An Interview & Updates
I just got interviewed about this blog yesterday afternoon by a local radio station (KERA). I wasn't quite prepared, but I did my best in the interview, answering various questions regarding squirrels.
At the moment, the two squirrels I'm raising, Buddee and Elliebelle, are very happy and healthy. They are quite a handful, and I plan on releasing them in my backyard in the spring.

Hey,
Thanks for sharing the link - but unfortunately it seems to be not working? Does anybody here at squirrelawareness.blogspot.com have a mirror or another source?
Thanks,
Oliver
Nice post, kind of drawn out though. Really good subject matter though.
I just heard your interview on KERA. I have two squirrels that have been entertaining me this fall with their acrobatics among the tops of my elm, sycamore, and ash trees. They are amazing creatures and it was a delight to hear someone talk about a real appreciation of these industrious, athletic beings. Thanks for a nice few minutes of radio!
Hi Andrew,
I loved your story about your squirrels on NPR! I love the squirrels too.. and I have one that lives in my house. I could not bring myself to release him, after raising him on milk, feeding him his first solid food and watching him open his eyes. Who could turn that loose? So we didn't. I would love to get together and talk squirrels some time. Glad I'm not the only one out there who thinks they are beautiful.

Andrew,I also heard your piece on KERA and thought it was great! My wife and I just bought an acre covered with Pecan and Oak trees and of course many squirrels. We would like to learn how to help sustain them during the winter and whether squirrel houses are actually good for the squirrels. Thanks again for all the good info on your radio piece. You did a great job.
