Pecans are Ripening

I'll be collecting pecans around my neighborhood for the squirrels.

I think pecans must be the absolute favorite of the squirrels (some squirrels anyway), they treat it like candy!

How are the squirrels doing in Texas during this holiday season, squirrelman??

I will not agree on it. I assume nice post. Specially the designation attracted me to be familiar with the sound story.

How exciting, wild pecans! There's nothing where I live to "gather" for the squirrels, just things to buy. (Well, there are acorns in the parks I suppose, but as I drop their food in the parks anyway, there's no point in collecting what's already there.) Where do you put your pecans?

Also I want to say how much I appreciate your blog. I love squirrels too. We have much squirrel activity out my kitchen window and many in a nearby park. I love looking out for colour variations. We have a community of albino squirrels in another park that I used to live by. In my local park now the grey squirrels dominate but many of them are quite brown!

This isnt about pecans, but I was trying to get some info on squirrels in general. I wish no animals any harm & do my best to see that all the wildlife around me has a fair chance against my cats & dogs. Recently my kitten managed to get a baby from somehwere. I was able to catch & release him without too much trama & he got away. Since then I have seen the mother with one baby & I have seen one baby where the inciden began. My concern is that the one I rescues has been seperated from his/her mom & sibling. Any advice?
